The Big Hoot project was set up in Birmingham to boost creative awareness in the city, whilst raising funds for the Birmingham's Children Hospital. For 10 weeks in the summer 2015, Birmingham's streets, parks, shops and open spaces will become a parliament of over 100 individually decorated owls ranging from 6 foot owls, designed by artists to 4 foot owls produced by local schools.
I was really excited to be asked to help the local school with the creation of their owl for the big Hoot project, and thus "Hooty" was designed. I wanted this to be an inclusive project in which each child in the school designed a black and white feather to be decoupaged onto the owl. Please see the photographs below to show the final assembly of the owl.
